Mimic Duel privacy policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Mimic Duel uses your camera to play emoji charades. It does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, a custom account system, or a developer-operated game server.
Local play
Camera previews, captured performances, guesses, scores, and completed rounds are held in device memory. The app does not record video or automatically save performances to your photo library. Ending the session or terminating the app removes the in-memory game state.
The app stores tutorial-completion preferences locally using UserDefaults.
Online play
Online play uses Apple Game Center to authenticate players and invite a friend across two devices. A Game Center account and internet access are required on each device. Game Center handles its account and connection services under Apple’s privacy terms.
Captured photos, player names/identifiers, guesses, readiness, and scores are transferred between participants through GameKit so the match can work. Live camera previews remain on your device. Participants can view performances and choose to save or share completed collages. Only play online with people you trust with these images.
The app does not retain match history on a developer-operated server. Disconnecting or backgrounding ends the match and discards the unfinished round; completed results remain available in memory for export until reset or process exit.
Saving and sharing
Collage files are created in the app’s temporary directory only when you choose to save or share. Temporary collage exports are removed on the next launch. Save to Photos requests add-only Photos permission; the app does not read your photo library. Photos you save remain in your library until you delete them. Files you share are handled by the destination you select and its privacy practices.
Permissions and controls
You can revoke Camera and Photos access in iOS Settings. Local play does not require Game Center. You can leave an online match, end a local session, and delete saved collages yourself. The app has no developer-held gameplay archive to recover or delete.
